ON THE GRILL - March 2026

Spring is Coming and TRSC is Humming!

Here's how we're closing Q1.

COME FIND US AT THE RC SHOW!

Our industry-shaking Black Experience Pavilion is back next Sunday March 8th! We'll beat daylight savings time to kick off three full days of demos, sampling, and product showcases at the International Centre in Mississauga, Hall 5, booth #5331.

This year, we're upping the ante with two insightful panel discussions designed to empower the Black food community:

  • Restaurant 101 on March 8th @12:15pm will highlight the journeys of the founders of Souperlicious, The Heartbreak Chef, and SK Cookks with a goal of helping Black restaurant owners navigate an industry that demands resilience and conviction.

  • Dream Bigger on March 9th @ 11:30am will celebrate the achievements of the entrepreneurs behind Siika Foods, Nerpy's, and Island Gurl Foods with a discussion about the opportunities offered by foodservice distribution. This session is sponsored by Farm Credit Canada.

You won't want to miss these events or any of the action in the Black Experience Pavilion. Click here for our full programming schedule. See you in Mississa!

Dreading Tax Season? He Can Help. ↘︎

Our Fractional Finance Manager Royden Henry has successfully guided us through two grants and is offering free advice to other entrepreneurs preparing for tax season. If you're looking for As to your Qs, join his webinar, Accounting & Taxes for Beginners on March 6th.

UP NEXT: HIRE HER, TOO

Thanks to the generous funding of High Liner Foods with support from Women and Gender Equality Canada, Hire Her, Too - our networking mixer for Black women in foodservice, is back on Tuesday March 24th.

This time, we'll gather at Revival Event Venue for an evening with 2x the impact, 3x the inspiration, food, drinks, and new interactive touchpoints you won't want to miss.

More details will be shared by email and on social media, but in the meantime, we suggest you call a friend and get your tickets before they're gone!

Their impact is undeniable yet their access, visibility, and representation still require intentional effort. At The Re-Seasoning Coalition, we believe industry change starts with industry action. It’s why we're hosting Hire Her, Too on...

December 2025 A Note About 2025, Annus Fabulous 2025 was a monumental year for TRSC. It was perhaps our most important since 2020 when Philman and I decided to stay on the phone and continue chatting about putting together a project to change the recipe for equity in the foodservice industry. This year we built on last year's foundation for change through programs, partnerships, and possibility models — all backed by research — to ensure that Black Canadians and other equity-denied groups get...

November 2025 WHAT A NIGHT! The energy was unforgettable. Last Tuesday, we gathered for the first Hire Her: Black Women in Foodservice Networking Mixer, powered by Sysco and Kraft Heinz Canada. The evening was filled with intention, purpose, and community as Black women across the foodservice industry came together to connect, share, and celebrate leadership. We saw the impact of giving students, mid-career professionals, entrepreneurs, and career changers the opportunity to bet on themselves...
